How To Raise Soil PH?

Apply agricultural lime

Use dolomitic lime if magnesium is also needed

Mix finely ground lime into the soil

Test soil before and after application

Apply wood ash sparingly

Use calcitic limestone for calcium without extra magnesium

Add crushed oyster shell or shell flour

Use baking soda only for small, temporary pH adjustments

Reduce use of acid-forming fertilizers

Incorporate composted organic matter

Water with low-acidity water if needed

Recheck soil pH regularly
