How To Read Box Plots?

Identify the median line inside the box

Read the lower edge of the box as the first quartile

Read the upper edge of the box as the third quartile

Calculate the interquartile range as the distance between the first and third quartiles

Read the whiskers as the lowest and highest non-outlier values

Check for outliers shown as separate points beyond the whiskers

Compare the median position within the box to assess skewness

Compare box lengths to assess spread

Compare whisker lengths to assess tail length

Compare multiple box plots by median, spread, and outliers
