Open the app or screen you want to record

Press Windows key + G to open the Xbox Game Bar

Click the Capture widget

Click the Record button or press Windows key + Alt + R

Stop recording by clicking the Stop button or pressing Windows key + Alt + R

Find the saved video in the Videos > Captures folder

To record your screen with PowerPoint

Open PowerPoint

Go to Insert

Select Screen Recording

Click Select Area

Click Record

Click Stop when finished

Save the recording

To record with the Snipping Tool on supported Windows versions

Open Snipping Tool

Select Record

Click New

Choose the area to record

Click Start

Click Stop when finished

Save the video

To record with third-party software

Install a screen recording app

Open the app

Choose the screen, window, or area to record

Start recording

Stop recording when done

Save the file
