Open Finder
Click Finder in the menu bar
Select Settings
Click the Sidebar tab
Check the box for Trash
Close Settings
Open Finder and look in the sidebar for Trash
If Trash is still missing, press Command + Space
Type Terminal and open it
Enter: `defaults delete com.apple.finder ShowTrashOnDesktop`
Enter: `killall Finder`
If needed, restart your Mac
