How to Reface Cabinets?

Remove cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware

Clean all cabinet surfaces thoroughly

Repair dents, chips, and loose areas

Sand existing surfaces to create adhesion

Measure cabinet fronts, doors, and drawer faces

Choose refacing material such as veneer, laminate, or wood veneer

Cut refacing material to size

Apply adhesive to cabinet boxes and fronts

Press refacing material firmly into place

Trim excess material with a utility knife or router

Apply edge banding to exposed edges

Reinstall or replace hinges, handles, and drawer slides

Attach new doors and drawer fronts if needed

Fill nail holes, seams, or gaps

Sand lightly and clean off dust

Apply finish, paint, or sealant if desired

Reinstall drawers and doors

Check alignment and make adjustments
