How To Remove A Tint From A Car Window?

Gather a heat gun or hair dryer, razor blade or plastic scraper, glass cleaner, microfiber cloths, ammonia-based cleaner or soapy water, and trash bags

Park the car in a warm, shaded area

Lower the window slightly

Peel back a corner of the tint film with a razor blade or fingernail

Apply heat evenly to the tint to soften the adhesive

Slowly pull the tint away from the glass at a shallow angle

Reheat stubborn sections while continuing to peel

Spray the adhesive residue with ammonia-based cleaner or soapy water

Cover the window with a plastic bag or trash bag to help loosen the adhesive

Wait several minutes for the adhesive to soften

Scrape off remaining adhesive with a razor blade or plastic scraper

Wipe the glass clean with microfiber cloths

Repeat cleaning until the window is clear

Clean the window with glass cleaner for a final finish

Dispose of the removed tint and adhesive residue properly
