Gather supplies: acetone, cotton balls or pads, aluminum foil, nail file/buffer, cuticle oil, moisturizer
Wash hands with soap and warm water
Trim nails as short as possible
Gently file the topcoat and shiny layer to break the seal
Soak cotton in acetone and place it on each nail
Wrap each fingertip with aluminum foil to hold the cotton in place
Wait 20–30 minutes
Remove foil and cotton
Gently slide off any loosened acrylic with a cuticle pusher
If acrylic remains, re-soak for another 10 minutes and repeat
Buff off any remaining residue with a gentle file
Apply cuticle oil
Wash hands and apply moisturizer or hand cream
If skin becomes irritated or painful, stop and seek professional help
