Contact the previous owner and ask them to remove the device from their Apple ID
Ask the previous owner to sign in to iCloud.com/find and remove the device from their account
Ask the previous owner to go to appleid.apple.com and remove the device from their trusted devices list
If you have proof of purchase, contact Apple Support and request Activation Lock removal
Provide Apple with the original purchase receipt showing the device serial number or IMEI
If the device was bought secondhand, ask the seller to complete the removal remotely
If the device is managed by an organization, contact the organization’s IT or device administrator
Avoid third-party “unlock” services and tools
If the device cannot be removed by the owner or Apple, return it to the seller or retailer
