Do not rub the stain

Mix 1 teaspoon mild dish soap with 1 cup warm water

Dampen a clean cloth with the solution

Blot the stain from the outside toward the center

Repeat with a fresh cloth until the stain lifts

Blot with plain water to remove soap residue

Press dry towels onto the area to absorb moisture

Sprinkle baking soda on the damp spot if needed

Vacuum the area after it dries completely
