Sort the garment by fabric type and check the care label
Test any cleaning method on a hidden area first
Soak the clothing in cold water with oxygen bleach
Wash the item separately with a detergent for whites
Add a color-safe bleach if the fabric allows it
Use a stain remover on any visible dye transfer spots
Repeat the soak and wash if the color remains
For stubborn dye transfer, use a commercial color remover made for whites
Rinse thoroughly after each treatment
