How To Remove Lice From Hair?

Confirm lice by checking the scalp, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck

Use a fine-tooth lice comb on wet, conditioned hair

Section the hair and comb from scalp to ends

Wipe the comb on a tissue or rinse it after each pass

Repeat combing every 2 to 3 days for 2 weeks

Use an over-the-counter lice treatment exactly as directed

Repeat the treatment if the product instructions require it

Check and treat all household members with lice

Wash bedding, hats, scarves, and recently used clothing in hot water

Dry items on high heat

Seal items that cannot be washed in a plastic bag for 2 weeks

Vacuum furniture, car seats, and floors

Avoid sharing combs, brushes, hats, and pillows

Disinfect combs and brushes in hot water

Check the scalp again after treatment to confirm lice are gone

See a healthcare professional if lice persist after treatment
