Apply a cold compress or ice wrapped in a cloth for 10 to 15 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours

Gently massage the area after the first day if it is not painful
Apply aloe vera gel or vitamin K cream if available
Use makeup or concealer to cover the mark
Wear clothing or accessories that can hide the area
Avoid scratching or rubbing the bruise
Take over-the-counter pain relief if needed and safe for you
Seek medical advice if the mark is very large, very painful, or does not improve after 1 to 2 weeks
