How To Remove The Reflective Layer Off A CD?

Use a plastic scraper or razor blade to lift an edge of the label side coating

Peel the reflective layer slowly from the center outward if it separates cleanly

Soak the disc in warm water with mild dish soap for several minutes

Rub the label side gently with a soft cloth or your fingers to loosen the coating

Use adhesive remover on a cloth to help lift stubborn residue

Wipe the surface clean with isopropyl alcohol

Repeat soaking and peeling until the reflective layer is removed
