Blot the stain with a dry, clean cloth to remove excess moisture
Let the wood dry completely
Place a clean cloth over the stain
Iron on low heat (no steam) for 5–10 seconds, then check; repeat as needed
If the stain remains, apply a small amount of white toothpaste to the area and gently rub with a soft cloth
Wipe clean and let dry
If the stain persists, mix equal parts baking soda and non-gel toothpaste, apply lightly, gently rub, then wipe clean
If the stain is still visible, apply a small amount of mineral spirits to a cloth and wipe the area
Wipe with a clean damp cloth, then dry
If the finish is damaged or the stain is deep, lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 220–320 grit) until the mark fades
Wipe off dust with a tack cloth or slightly damp cloth and let dry
Refinish the spot with matching wood stain (if needed) and protective finish (polyurethane, varnish, or wax)
For sealed/finished wood, test any cleaner in an inconspicuous spot first
