Make sure your current passport is undamaged and issued when you were age 16 or older
Confirm your passport was issued within the last 15 years
Complete Form DS-82
Include a recent passport photo that meets US passport requirements
Enclose your current passport with your application
Include the required renewal fee
Use the address listed on the DS-82 instructions for routine or expedited service
Mail your application package to the correct processing center
Track your application status online after submission
Apply in person using Form DS-11 if you are not eligible to renew by mail
