Clean the leather with a damp microfiber cloth and a leather-safe cleaner
Let the settee dry completely
Identify the damage type: scratch, crack, tear, hole, stain, or loose seam
Trim any loose threads or frayed edges with sharp scissors
Apply leather conditioner to dry or stiff areas
Use a leather repair kit for scratches, cracks, and small holes
Fill cracks or gouges with leather filler in thin layers
Smooth the filler with a spatula and let it dry between layers
Sand repaired areas lightly with fine-grit sandpaper if needed
Match the color with leather dye or colorant
Apply dye in thin coats and let each coat dry
Seal the repaired area with a leather finisher or sealant
For small tears, use leather adhesive and a backing patch
Press the tear edges together and hold until bonded
For larger tears, place a patch under the damaged area and glue it in place
Stitch loose seams with strong upholstery thread and a curved needle
Re-glue lifted piping or trim with leather adhesive
Replace broken buttons, springs, or internal padding if needed
Refill sagging cushions with foam or batting
Test all repair products on a hidden area first
Keep the settee away from direct sunlight and heat after repair
Condition the leather regularly to prevent future cracking
