Clean the connector and cable contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab
Reseat the cable fully into the connector
Ensure the locking tab or clamp is properly closed
Straighten minor bends carefully without creasing the cable
Trim and re-terminate the cable only if the connector type allows it
Replace damaged connector clips or latches if broken
Use conductive repair tape for small trace breaks if appropriate
Use a ribbon cable repair kit for minor damage
Replace the entire ribbon cable if traces are broken or the cable is heavily damaged
Test continuity with a multimeter after repair
Reassemble and test the device before full closure
