Check the key fob model and battery type
Locate the seam or release slot on the fob
Use a small flat tool or coin to open the fob case
Separate the two halves carefully
Remove the old battery
Note the battery orientation
Insert the new battery in the same orientation
Snap the fob case back together
Test the key fob buttons
Replace the battery if the fob still does not work
