Turn off the device
Disconnect the power source
Remove the back cover or battery compartment
Locate the battery
Disconnect any battery connector
Remove the old battery
Insert the new battery
Reconnect the battery connector
Reattach the back cover or battery compartment
Power on the device
Test that the device works properly
