How to Replace Crankshaft Sensor?

Disconnect the negative battery cable

Locate the crankshaft position sensor

Raise and support the vehicle if needed

Remove any covers, shields, or intake parts blocking access

Disconnect the sensor electrical connector

Remove the mounting bolt or bolts

Pull the sensor out carefully

Compare the old sensor with the new sensor

Clean the mounting area and sensor opening

Install the new sensor in the correct position

Tighten the mounting bolt or bolts to specification

Reconnect the electrical connector

Reinstall any removed covers, shields, or intake parts

Lower the vehicle if it was raised

Reconnect the negative battery cable

Start the engine and check for proper operation

Clear any diagnostic trouble codes if needed
