Turn off the turntable and unplug it
Secure the tonearm
Remove the stylus or cartridge cover if present
Hold the cartridge steady
Pull the old needle straight out or release it according to the cartridge design
Check the model number of the cartridge or stylus
Obtain the correct replacement needle
Align the new needle with the cartridge
Insert the new needle gently until it clicks or seats firmly
Reattach any cover or guard
Plug the turntable back in
Test playback with a record
Confirm the needle tracks properly and does not skip
