On the sign-in screen, select I forgot my password
Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your identity
Enter the verification code sent to your email or phone
Create a new password and confirm it
Sign in with the new password
If you use a Microsoft account, reset it at account.live.com/password/reset
Enter your Microsoft account email, phone number, or Skype name
Complete the security verification
Set a new password
If you use a local account, select Reset password if available on the sign-in screen
Answer the security questions
Enter a new password
If you have a password reset disk, insert it on the sign-in screen
Select Reset password
Follow the Password Reset Wizard
If you are an administrator on the PC, sign in with another admin account
Open Computer Management
Go to Local Users and Groups
Select Users
Right-click the account
Choose Set Password
Enter the new password
If you cannot access the account, use Windows recovery options or contact your IT administrator
