Fix the underlying issue first
Turn the ignition off
Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 to 15 minutes
Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Start the vehicle and check the light
Use an OBD2 scanner to clear the code
Drive the vehicle for a few trips to let the system reset
If the light returns, have the vehicle diagnosed again
