Uninstall WhatsApp from your device
Reinstall WhatsApp from the App Store or Google Play Store
Verify your phone number
Tap Restore when prompted
Wait for the chat backup to finish restoring
Open WhatsApp and check the recovered chats
On Android, restore from a local backup if Google Drive backup is unavailable
Use a file manager to locate the WhatsApp database backup on your device
Rename the desired backup file if needed
Reinstall WhatsApp and restore from the local backup during setup
On iPhone, make sure iCloud Drive and WhatsApp backup are enabled
Confirm the Apple ID used matches the one from the backup
Check the backup date before restoring
Use a third-party recovery tool only if no backup exists
Avoid overwriting existing backups before attempting recovery
Ask the other chat participant to resend the messages if needed
