Back up the source iPhone to iCloud or a computer
Turn on the new iPhone and begin setup
Place both iPhones near each other
Follow the Quick Start prompts on the new iPhone
Use the source iPhone to scan the animation on the new iPhone
Enter the source iPhone passcode on the new iPhone
Set up Face ID or Touch ID
Choose Transfer from iPhone or Download from iCloud Backup
Keep both iPhones connected to Wi-Fi and power
Wait for the transfer or restore to complete
Sign in to your Apple ID if prompted
Check that apps, photos, messages, and settings restored correctly
