Check your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey
Sign in with the account used on the device
Look for the BitLocker recovery key associated with the correct device
Check Azure AD or Entra ID if the device is work or school managed
Check Active Directory if the device is domain joined
Ask your IT administrator or help desk for the recovery key
Check a printed copy if one was saved
Check a USB drive if the key was saved there
Check a text file or document where the key may have been stored
Check any password manager or secure notes where the key may have been saved
On another Windows device, open Command Prompt as administrator and run `manage-bde -protectors -get C:`
On the BitLocker recovery screen, use the Recovery Key ID to match the correct key
If none of the above work, contact the device manufacturer or your organization’s support team
