Turn off and unplug the Dyson
Remove the filter from the machine
Tap the filter gently to remove loose dust
Rinse the filter under cold running water
Rotate and squeeze the filter gently while rinsing
Keep rinsing until the water runs clear
Do not use detergent, soap, or hot water
Shake off excess water
Leave the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours
Refit the filter only when it is fully dry
