Open the Google Doc
Make your changes
Wait for Google Docs to save automatically
Check the status at the top for “Saving…” or “Saved to Drive”
Use File > Download to save a copy to your device
Choose a file format such as Microsoft Word, PDF, or plain text
Use File > Make a copy to save a duplicate in Google Drive
Use File > Email as attachment if you want to send a saved copy
Use Ctrl+S on Windows or Command+S on Mac to force a save check
Ensure you are signed in to your Google account
Make sure you have an internet connection for cloud saving
