Open Instagram and go to Direct Messages
Open an existing chat or start a new one
Tap the message box
Tap the sticker icon or GIF option if available
Search for a GIF using the GIF search bar
Tap the GIF you want to send
If GIFs are not available in your chat, copy a GIF link or save the GIF as a video and upload it instead
To send a GIF in Stories, tap the sticker icon, choose GIF, search, and add it to your story
To send a GIF in comments, paste a GIF link if supported or use a compatible third-party method
