Open the Messages app

Start a new conversation or open an existing one

Tap the Apple Pay button in the app drawer

Enter the amount you want to send

Tap Pay

Review the payment details

Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode

Send the payment

Confirm the recipient accepts Apple Cash if required

Make sure Apple Cash is set up in Wallet

Ensure your debit card or Apple Cash balance is available for the transfer

Check that both you and the recipient are in a supported region

Verify the recipient is using Apple Cash in Messages
