Make sure your iPhone or iPad has the latest iOS or iPadOS version
Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Remove the plastic tab from the AirTag battery
Hold the AirTag near your iPhone or iPad
Tap Connect when the setup prompt appears
Choose a name for the AirTag
Select the item category
Register the AirTag to your Apple ID
Tap Finish
Attach the AirTag to the item you want to track
Open the Find My app to view the AirTag location
Enable Find My network and location services if prompted
