Connect the Fractal FM3 main outputs to the Apollo Twin line inputs using 1/4-inch TRS cables
Set the FM3 output level to line level
Set the Apollo Twin input gain low or to unity
Open the UA Console app
Select the correct Apollo Twin input channels
Set the Apollo inputs to line mode, not instrument mode
Disable phantom power on the Apollo inputs
Set the FM3 output mode to stereo if using both left and right outputs
Set the Apollo Twin monitor output level to a safe starting point
Adjust FM3 output levels first, then fine-tune Apollo input gain if needed
If using the FM3 as the main processor, connect your guitar to the FM3 input
If using Apollo plugins for recording, route the FM3 signal into your DAW through the Apollo inputs
If monitoring through the Apollo, enable direct monitoring in Console
If recording dry and wet signals separately, use additional FM3 outputs or USB routing as needed
Match sample rates between the FM3, Apollo Twin, and DAW
Use balanced cables whenever possible
Avoid clipping on both the FM3 output meters and Apollo input meters
Save the setup as a preset in Console and in your DAW for future use
