Check your carrier’s voicemail setup instructions (carrier website or customer support)
Confirm you have a working phone line and cellular/Wi‑Fi calling requirements met
Call your voicemail number or dial the voicemail access number (often shown in your carrier app or on your phone)
Create or update your voicemail password/PIN when prompted
Record your voicemail greeting (or choose a default greeting)
Save/confirm your greeting when prompted
Set notification settings (visual voicemail, voicemail alerts, missed call notifications) in your phone settings
Test by calling your own number from another phone and leaving a voicemail
Verify you can retrieve voicemail messages (voicemail app/visual voicemail or voicemail access number)
If prompted, enable voicemail transcription/visual voicemail (if available)
If voicemail doesn’t work, restart your phone and recheck call forwarding/voicemail settings
Ensure call forwarding to voicemail is enabled (if your carrier uses call forwarding codes)
Contact your carrier if voicemail access fails or the PIN cannot be set/reset
