Match the original blade angle
Sharpen from pivot to tip in smooth, even strokes
Keep the strokes consistent on the beveled edge only
Avoid sharpening the flat inner side
Remove any burrs with light finishing strokes
Test the blade on hair or tissue
Adjust tension if needed
Lubricate the pivot and blades
Wipe off excess oil
Repeat only as needed to maintain the edge
