Equip a shield
Go to a slope or hill
Jump while facing downhill
Press the shield surf button in midair
Hold the shield surf input to keep surfing
Use the left stick to steer
Press jump to hop off the shield
Press attack to stop surfing if needed
Avoid surfing on flat ground
Use a sturdy shield to reduce breakage
