Sit on the motorcycle and hold the handlebars
Turn the ignition on
Pull in the clutch lever fully
Start the engine
Put the bike in first gear with your left foot

Gently roll on the throttle while continuing to release the clutch
Shift up by rolling off the throttle, pulling in the clutch, and lifting the shift lever
Shift down by rolling off the throttle, pulling in the clutch, and pressing the shift lever
Match speed and gear as you ride
Stop by rolling off the throttle, pulling in the clutch, and shifting to neutral or first gear
Keep both feet ready for balance when stopping
Practice in a safe, open area
