Inspect the roof deck for damage, rot, and loose nails
Remove old shingles, flashing, and debris
Install drip edge along the eaves
Install underlayment over the roof deck
Install ice and water shield in valleys, eaves, and other required areas
Mark chalk lines to keep rows straight
Start with starter shingles along the eaves
Begin shingling from the bottom edge and work upward
Nail each shingle according to manufacturer specifications
Stagger shingle joints between rows
Cut shingles to fit around edges, vents, and valleys
Install flashing around chimneys, walls, skylights, and vents
Continue shingling to the ridge
Install ridge cap shingles along the peak
Seal exposed nails and any required tabs
Inspect the roof for alignment, coverage, and secure fastening
Clean up all debris and leftover materials
