Place the firearm inside a plain, unmarked outer shipping box
Do not mark the package to indicate it contains a firearm
Declare the shipment to the carrier if required by law or carrier policy
Use only carriers and service levels that allow firearm shipments
Ship only to an eligible address or licensed dealer as required
Include any required documentation, permits, or transfer information
Obtain tracking and delivery confirmation
Insure the shipment if permitted and appropriate
Retain shipment records and proof of transfer
Comply with all carrier packaging and labeling requirements
Do not ship prohibited items with the firearm
Do not ship ammunition in the same package unless explicitly allowed by law and carrier policy
