Sort out any bruised, moldy, or overripe strawberries
Do not wash them before storing
Keep the green tops on until ready to eat
Line a container with paper towels
Place strawberries in a single layer if possible
Cover the container loosely or leave it slightly open for airflow
Store in the refrigerator
Replace damp paper towels if needed
Wash strawberries only right before eating or using
Freeze strawberries for longer storage
Remove stems before freezing
Spread berries on a tray to freeze individually first
Transfer frozen berries to an airtight freezer bag or container
