Turn off the weed eater and disconnect the spark plug or battery
Remove the trimmer head cover
Take out any remaining line
Cut a length of trimmer line to the correct diameter for your model
Fold the line in half if the head uses two holes with a center loop
Insert one end of the line into the first hole
Insert the other end into the second hole
Pull the line through until both sides are even
If the head has separate winding directions, follow the arrows on the spool
Wind each side onto the spool in the direction indicated
Leave about 6 to 8 inches of line on each side
Feed the ends through the eyelets or exit holes
Reinstall the spool and cover
Pull the line ends to confirm they move freely
Reconnect the power source and test the trimmer
