Turn on your Xbox One console
Turn on the Xbox One controller by pressing the Xbox button
Press the Pair button on the console
Press and hold the Pair button on the controller until the Xbox button flashes
Wait for the Xbox button to stay lit, which means the controller is synced
If needed, connect the controller with a USB cable and press the Xbox button
Disconnect the cable after the controller syncs, if desired
