Open Instagram and create a new post, story, reel, or comment
Tap Tag People on a post before sharing
Tap the photo or video where you want to tag someone
Search for the person’s username
Select the correct account from the list
Tap Done or checkmark to save the tag
Share the post
For a story, tap the sticker icon and choose Mention or Tag
Type the username after @ in a story, caption, or comment
Select the correct account when it appears
Tap Post, Share, or Send
To tag someone in an existing post, open the post and tap the three dots
Choose Edit
Tap Tag People and add the account
Save the changes
To tag someone in a comment, type @ followed by their username
To tag someone in a reel, add the tag before publishing using Tag People or @mention
Make sure the account is public or allows tags from you if needed
