Open Instagram and create a new post, story, reel, or comment
Tap Tag people on a post before sharing
Tap the photo or video where you want to tag someone
Search for the person’s username
Select the correct account from the list
Share the post to complete the tag
For a story, tap the sticker icon and choose Mention
Type the person’s username after @ in a caption, comment, or story text
Select the correct account when it appears
To tag someone in a comment, type @ followed by their username
To tag someone in a reel, use the Tag people option before posting
