Trim the acrylic nails as short as possible with nail clippers
File the top layer of the acrylic to break the seal
Protect the skin around your nails with petroleum jelly
Soak cotton balls in 100% acetone
Place one soaked cotton ball on each nail
Wrap each fingertip tightly with aluminum foil
Wait 20 to 30 minutes
Remove the foil and cotton from one nail
Gently push off the softened acrylic with a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick
Rewrap and soak any nails that are still hard
Lightly buff away remaining residue
Wash your hands thoroughly
Apply cuticle oil and hand cream
Stop if you feel pain or see bleeding
Do not pry or force the acrylic off
Do not peel the acrylic off
Seek professional help if the nails are damaged or infected
