Open the blinds fully
Remove any valance or cover if present
Locate the mounting brackets
Open the bracket doors or release tabs
Lift the headrail up and out of the brackets
If the blinds are screwed in, remove the screws from the brackets
Support the blinds while removing the last fastener
Lower the blinds carefully
Remove any remaining bracket hardware from the wall or window frame
Patch screw holes if needed
