Wash the silver with warm water and mild dish soap
Dry it completely with a soft cloth
Line a bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side up
Add hot water to the bowl
Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda per cup of water
Add a pinch of salt
Place the silver in the solution so it touches the foil
Let it sit for 2 to 10 minutes
Remove the silver with tongs
Rinse it with clean water
Dry it thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth
Buff gently with a silver polishing cloth
Use silver polish on stubborn tarnish
Rinse and dry again after polishing
Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough scrubbing
Store silver in anti-tarnish cloth or airtight bags
