Open the blinds fully
Locate the mounting brackets at the top of the window frame
Find the release tabs or clips on each bracket
Press or lift the release tabs to free the headrail
Support the blinds with one hand while releasing the brackets
Pull the headrail out of the brackets
Remove any valance if attached
Unscrew the brackets from the wall or window frame if needed
Remove any remaining hardware or screws
Lower the blinds carefully and set them aside
