Start with dry hair
Apply a light volumizing spray or texturizer if desired
Section off the top layer of hair
Hold one section straight up
Use a fine-tooth teasing comb or brush
Comb downward toward the scalp in short strokes
Repeat a few times on the same section
Gently smooth the outer layer over the teased section
Repeat with additional sections as needed
Avoid over-teasing to reduce damage
Finish with hairspray to hold the style
Gently brush out carefully when removing the tease
