Look at the hour hand first
Look at the minute hand next
If there is a second hand, ignore it for telling the time
The hour hand shows the hour
The minute hand shows the minutes
Each number on the clock equals 5 minutes for the minute hand
Count by 5s from 12 to find the minute value
If the minute hand is between numbers, estimate the minutes
Read the hour hand based on the number it has passed
If the hour hand is between two numbers, use the earlier number as the hour
Combine the hour and minute to say the time
For digital time, read the first part as hours and the second part as minutes
Use AM for morning times
Use PM for afternoon and evening times
