Gently hold the rabbit securely and calmly
Lift the tail and look at the genital area
Apply gentle pressure above and below the opening
A male will usually show a rounder, tubular penis
A female will usually show a slit-shaped vulva
Male rabbits often have a more circular opening
Female rabbits often have a more vertical opening
Check for testicles in mature males
Testicles are usually visible on either side of the genitals
Young rabbits can be harder to sex accurately
